Job Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Solar PV & Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of utility-scale renewable energy projects in Senegal.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all phases of EPC project execution, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual, technical, environmental, and quality requirements. The role requires close coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory authorities.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Delivery

  • Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of Solar PV and BESS projects.
  • Develop detailed project execution plans, schedules, budgets, and resource plans.
  • Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Engineering & Construction Management

  • Coordinate engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) activities.
  • Manage contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor construction progress and resolve technical or operational issues.
  • Ensure compliance with engineering specifications and project requirements.

HSE & Quality Management

  • Promote a strong Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (HSEQ) culture across all project activities.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, company policies, and client standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections and implement corrective actions where necessary.

Stakeholder Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare project reports and present progress updates to senior management.
  • Coordinate project meetings and maintain effective communication among all stakeholders.

Risk, Cost & Schedule Control

  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Monitor project costs, budgets, and cash flow.
  • Manage project schedules and ensure milestone achievement.
  • Support contract administration and change management processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant project experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Project Manager.
  • Demonstrated experience managing EPC renewable energy projects.
  • Strong understanding of utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage Systems.

The following qualifications will be considered a strong advantage:

  • Two or more recognized electrical engineering professional certifications.
  • Experience managing multiple utility-scale Solar PV projects (5 MW or greater).
  • Experience managing multiple BESS projects (5 MWh or greater).
  • International EPC project delivery experience.

Requirements

Education and Required Experience

Candidates must have:

  • Served as Project Manager on at least one (1) Solar PV project of 5 MW or greater.
  • Served as Project Manager on at least one (1) Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project of 5 MWh or greater.
  • Qualifying projects must have been awarded or contracted on or after January 1, 2021.
