Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and competent Bilingual Tax and Accounting Specialist to join our team in Togo.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the company’s general and analytical accounting activities, ensuring compliance with Togolese tax, social, and accounting regulations. The role involves preparing financial reports, managing tax declarations, supporting audits, and providing financial guidance to management.

Key Responsibilities

Accounting Management

  • Maintain accurate general and analytical accounting records.
  • Perform monthly and annual accounting closing activities.
  • Prepare financial statements and periodic management reports.
  • Ensure proper documentation and filing of accounting records.

Tax and Social Compliance

  • Prepare and submit tax and social declarations in compliance with Togolese regulations.
  • Manage online declarations through DiMANA (OTR) and e-CNSS platforms.
  • Ensure timely payment of taxes, duties, and social contributions.
  • Monitor changes in tax and social regulations and ensure compliance.
  • Support and follow up on tax audits and interactions with relevant authorities.

Financial Reporting & Advisory

  • Provide accounting, tax, and social compliance advice to management.
  • Analyze financial information and highlight risks or improvement opportunities.
  • Support internal financial controls and compliance processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Bac+3 to Bac+5) in:
    • Accounting
    • Finance
    • Taxation
    • Related field
  • Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in an accounting firm, tax advisory firm, or similar position in Togo.
  • Strong knowledge of SYSCOHADA Revised accounting standards.
  • Good understanding of Togolese tax and social regulations.
  • Proven experience with tax declarations and payments through DiMANA (OTR) and e-CNSS platforms.
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Office tools.

Requirements

Education and Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in accounting, taxation, or financial advisory roles.
  • Experience within an accounting/tax consultancy environment in Togo is highly preferred.

  • French: Fluent, Required
  • English: Fluent, Required
