Job Description

We are seeking a motivated Trainee Civil Works Technician to join our telecom infrastructure team. This is an entry-level opportunity for recent graduates or junior technicians seeking practical experience in fibre optics, tower construction, and telecom site infrastructure.

The trainee will work closely with field engineers and project teams to support the execution of civil and technical activities across multiple project sites.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in site construction activities, including tower foundations, shelters, and related civil works
  • Support fiber optic deployment activities such as trenching, ducting, and cable laying
  • Participate in CCTV and telecom infrastructure installations
  • Monitor daily site progress and ensure activities align with project plans
  • Prepare and submit daily site reports to the line manager (L+1)
  • Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) standards on all sites
  • Assist in interpreting basic technical drawings and site layouts
  • Support site surveys and data collection for project planning
  • Coordinate with field teams and contractors during execution

Qualifications

  • Basic knowledge of civil works and telecom infrastructure
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, or other design tools is an advantage
  • Understanding of construction processes and site activities
  • Interest in telecom infrastructure (fiber, towers, networks)

Skills and Competencies

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
  • Strong willingness to learn and adapt in field environments
  • Good communication and reporting skills
  • Ability to work in a team and follow instructions
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving mindset
  • Physically fit and willing to work on-site in varying conditions

Requirements

Education and Required Experience

  • Diploma or Certificate in Telecommunications, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • Fresh graduates or candidates with 0–1 year experience are encouraged to apply

Languages

  • French: Required.
  • English: Advantageous but not mandatory.
