Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled LOGISTICS FLEET COORDINATOR to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Working in the project office in Abidjan, the logistician is responsible for dispatching and tracking vehicles. They ensure availability, control, dispatch and monitor vehicle movements and the GPS system. under the supervision of the project manager. This role involves will have the following main tasks:

Key Responsibilities

  • Fuel Management:
    • Supervise fuel supplies for all vehicles and site
    • Monitor fuel consumption and draw up regular reports to identify any anomalies.
    • Set up monitoring devices (probes, software) to control fuel use in real time.
  • GPS tracking of vehicles:
    • Manage the GPS tracking system for all vehicles assigned to the various sites.
    • Monitor vehicle movements in real time to ensure that they adhere to planned routes and journey times.
    • Analyse geolocation data to optimise routes and improve travel efficiency.
    • Supervise the flow of vehicles in the fleet.
  • Organizing the use of vehicles.
    • Carrying out maintenance and servicing of fleet vehicles, such as technical inspections.
    • To be familiar with the rules governing the safety and use of vehicles and to inform users of these rules.
    • Ensure compliance with transport regulations and safety standards.
    • Advising users and introducing them to the various vehicles in the fleet.
  • Reporting on activities to management.
    • Plan and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
    • Manage fleet data, including vehicle inventory, mileage and consumption reports.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 years’ experience in a similar position, ideally in the field of delivery or logistics.
  • Have a minimum knowledge of mechanics would be an asset.

Skills and Competencies

  • Computer skills.
  • Have a good knowledge of the cities and roads, terrain of Côte d’Ivoire.
  • Be courteous, honest and dedicated.
  • Good presentation.
  • Ability to work under pressure and to travel frequently.
  • Respectful of the confidentiality of information.
  • Experience with a similar project would be an asset.

Requirements

Education and Required Experience

  • This position may require occasional travel to fleet locations, workshops, or vendor sites.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when necessary.
  • 2-3 years of experience in fleet coordination, vehicle management, or logistics operations. Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Experience in working with drivers and external service providers (mechanics, fuel suppliers, etc.), coordinating vehicle servicing and vendor negotiations.
  • Familiarity with fleet compliance requirements, including vehicle registration, insurance, licensing, and government regulations.
  • Ability to track and analyze fleet-related expenses, fuel usage, and identify cost-saving opportunities.

Languages

  • Be able to Read, Write and Speak French fluently.
  • Knowledge of English would be an asset.
