Job Description

We are seeking a proactive and skilled Field Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in maintaining and troubleshooting telecommunications network infrastructure. You will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our network by conducting routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades on various telecommunications equipment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Network Maintenance: Perform regular inspections, maintenance, and repairs on telecommunications equipment, including base stations, antennas, towers, and other network components.
  • Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve issues related to network outages, equipment failures, and other technical problems to minimize downtime and service interruptions.
  • Installation and Upgrades: Assist in the installation, configuration, and upgrading of equipment and network infrastructure to support new services and technologies.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to network emergencies, including system outages and equipment malfunctions, by providing on-site support to restore services as quickly as possible.
  • Testing and Calibration: Conduct testing and calibration of network equipment to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and upgrades, including reporting any issues or recommendations for improvement.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols while performing maintenance work, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe working practices.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with network engineers, operations teams, and third-party contractors to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure seamless network operations.
  • Customer Support: Provide technical support and assistance to customers when necessary, ensuring a high level of service satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Relevant certifications in telecommunications, network maintenance, or related fields (e.g., Certified Tower Climber, Electrical Safety Certification) are preferred.
  • A minimum of 1–2 years of experience in field maintenance or a similar role in the telecommunications industry.
  • Strong knowledge of telecommunications equipment, including RF systems, transmission lines, power systems, and fiber optics.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment for troubleshooting and maintenance tasks.
  • Familiarity with network management systems and software.
  • Understanding of health and safety regulations, particularly concerning working at heights and in remote locations.
