Job Description

The Back Office RAN Operations and Maintenance Engineer is responsible for coordinating, managing, and executing proactive and reactive maintenance activities that require a higher level of support than what is offered by first-level operations. This person must ensure that the services provided to clients are continuously available and meet the service level agreement (SLA) performance standards. The role requires 24/7 availability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with support activities, including assurance, incident management, troubleshooting of faults, and key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Assist with problem management, system administration, node integration, node software deployment, and customer service requests.
  • Perform regular checks and monitor the overall RAN network health to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform root cause analysis for issues impacting network availability, implementing corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve complex issues affecting RAN networks.
  • Participate in RAN optimization and network enhancement initiatives to improve performance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of network architecture and new technologies to support operational efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in access networks or related fields.

Skills and Competencies

  • Familiarity with Ericsson RAN nodes such as APZ 212 33C/55, AXE10/810, APG40, APG43, Evo BSC, RNC 3810, RNC 3820, Evo RNC, RBS2000, RBS3000, and RBS6000.
  • Familiarity with Huawei RAN nodes such as BTS3012, BTS3900 GSM, DBS3800, BTS3900 WCDMA, BSC6900 GSM, BSC6910 GSM, BSC6900 UMTS, BSC6910 UMTS, and BSC6910GU.
  • Experience in integrating and extending RAN interfaces (IuPS, IuCS, and IuR).
  • Experience in RNC/BSC software upgrades and updates.
  • BTS/NodeB/EnodeB software upgrades.
  • Commissioning of RNC/BSC.

  • Knowledge of managed telecommunications operations practices.
  • Knowledge sharing and collaboration skills.
  • Proficiency in tools related to Ericsson equipment.
  • Proficiency in English.
  • Ability to deliver results and meet client expectations.
