Job Description

The primary function of this role is to ensure the effective management, operation, and development of clients’ transmission and IP networks, covering all relevant technologies, with a particular focus on the impact and delivery of VoLTE (Voice over LTE) services. As a 3rd-line function, the emphasis is on proactivity, service improvement, and client/vendor collaboration. The role also carries the responsibility of providing operational support and insights to the 2nd-level support teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vendor and Client Management: Manage relationships with clients and vendors to ensure smooth operations and service delivery.
  • Technology and Service Introduction: Evaluate, propose, and implement new technologies and services, particularly in the realm of VoLTE and IP networks.
  • Operational Support: Provide 3rd-line operational support and insights to the 2nd-line support teams.
  • Proactive Process Improvement: Identify and develop new operational processes, tools, and applications to improve network performance and service delivery.
  • Network/Service Performance: Develop, review, and create performance metrics across various OSI layers, interfaces, and end-to-end service flows.
  • Issue Resolution and Change Implementation: Analyze network and service performance, resolve issues raised from 2nd-line teams, and implement changes to enhance network/service functionality.
  • Incident Management: Oversee key incident lifecycle stages such as detection, impact, and restoration to improve service and network performance.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and document risks within the network/service, providing clear recommendations and options to resolve them.
  • Upselling and Service Improvement: Identify key “upsell” opportunities with clients and drive actions to deliver these improvements.
  • Service Champion: Ensure design and change activities follow best practices to reduce risk and improve network and service quality.
  • Vendor Support: Optimize interfaces with third-party vendors and drive improvements to reduce service impact resolution time.
  • Engagement and Communication: Actively engage with key groups and stakeholders within client and supplier organizations to influence decisions impacting network operation.

Qualifications

  • Transmission Technology Knowledge: In-depth understanding of transmission technologies, IP networks, routing protocols, and 2G/3G/4G networks.
  • IP and Routing Protocols Expertise: Detailed knowledge of IP protocols and how various protocols work together to ensure efficient end-to-end service delivery.
  • Telecommunication Network Understanding: Strong functional understanding of telecom networks, focusing on 2G, 3G, 4G, and VoLTE services.
  • ITIL Knowledge: Practical understanding of ITIL principles and practices for incident management, problem resolution, changes, and service introductions.

Skills and Competencies

  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to assess network/service performance and identify areas for improvement.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with clients, vendors, and internal teams.

Desirable Skills:

  • Project Management Experience: Experience managing telecom projects and coordinating with internal and external teams.
  • Vendor Management: Experience working with telecom vendors and suppliers to drive improvements in network and service quality.
  • Knowledge of VoLTE Services: Experience working with or supporting VoLTE (Voice over LTE) services and understanding their impact on network performance.

Requirements

Education and Required Experience

  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in operations and maintenance, implementation, integration, support, or test environments.

Languages

  • French, Level: Fluent, required
  • English, Level: Working knowledge
