Job Description

Reporting to: Project Manager

The technician is responsible for the installation, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of telecommunications equipment and networks in order to ensure the continuity and quality of services.

Key Responsibilities

Installation and commissioning

  • Install telecom equipment (antennas, radios, routers, switches, cabling, fiber optics, etc.).
  • Perform commissioning tests.
  • Configure equipment according to project specifications.

Preventive maintenance

  • Conduct periodic inspections of facilities.
  • Check the condition of equipment and power supplies.
  • Identify the risks of failure and propose corrective actions.

Maintenance corrective

  • Diagnose malfunctions and breakdowns.
  • Repair or replace defective equipment.
  • Ensure the rapid restoration of service.

 Network Performance Monitoring

  • Monitor network quality indicators.
  • Perform measurements and field tests.
  • Produce technical intervention reports.

 Compliance with QHSE rules

  • Apply Quality, Health, Safety and Environment procedures.
  • Use mandatory PPE.
  • Observe safety instructions when working at height or on technical sites.

Requirements

Education and Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years relevant experience preferably in in telecommunications, power generation, electrical or mechanical maintenance.
  • Operational experience of working in Africa and can operate in remote locations and manage remote sites.

Languages

  • French, Level: Fluent, Required
  • English, Level: Working knowledge, added advantage
